According to recent research from Germany, "Malignant melanoma of the skin preferentially metastasizes via the lymphatic system. Novel molecular biomarkers, which are involved in malignant transformation, proliferation, angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis, are currently under investigation to elucidate the risk for lymph node metastasis."
