Study 1: A combination of histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) could be used to treat leukemia.
According to recent research published in the International Journal of Molecular Medicine, "[We] aimed to elucidate the mechanism responsible for the interactive effects of HDAC inhibitors [suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid (SAHA), MS-275, m-carboxycinnamic acid bishydroxamide (CBHA), and trichostatin-A (TSA)] and TRAIL on apoptosis in leukemia cells."
