Aldosterone-producing adenomas have elevated levels of luteinizing hormone receptor expression

According to a study from the United States, luteinizing hormone receptor expression is elevated in aldosterone-producing adenomas (APAs).

"The mechanisms driving steroid production in APAs are poorly defined. However, previous studies have shown that steroid production in some cortisol-producing adenomas is regulated by aberrant expression of G protein-coupled receptors.
