Salvianolic acid B inhibited malignant transformation of oral premalignant lesions

According to recently published research from the People's Republic of China, salvianolic acid B (Sal B) can prevent malignant transformation of DMBA-induced oral premalignant lesions.

"Salvia miltiorrhiza (SM) has been used clinically in Asian countries to improve the microcirculation in the human body. Sal B, a pure compound extracted from SM, has been reported to be effective against fibrosis and ischemia-reperfusion injury, possibly through its anti-lipid peroxidation action," wrote Z.T. Zhou and colleagues, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
