Gadolinium neutron capture therapy may benefit from a novel gadolinium delivery system

Gadolinium(Gd)-encapsulated liposomes may be useful for delivering Gd into solid tumors for neutron capture therapy (NCT) and tumor imaging.

According to recent research from the United States, "Gd-NCT is a promising cancer therapy modality. One of the key factors for a successful Gd-NCT is to deliver and maintain a sufficient amount of Gd in tumor tissues during neutron irradiation."
