Colorectal Cancer

Researchers from the United States and South Korea report details of new studies and findings in the area of colorectal cancer

Colorectal cancer data are the focus of recent research from the United States and South Korea.

Study 1: Mucinous colorectal cancer (CRC) pathogenesis was associated with BRAF mutation, CpG island methylator phenotype (CIMP) and microsatellite instability (MSI).

"Mucinous CRC has been reported to have distinct clinicopathological and genetic characteristics. However, the incidence and the relationship among MSI, CIMP and BRAF and KRAS mutations in mucinous and non-mucinous CRC are not known," scientists writing in the International Journal of Cancer reported.
