Data from University Children's Hospital advance knowledge in cancer gene therapy

Scientists discuss in "Regulation of TRAIL-induced apoptosis by XIAP in pancreatic carcinoma cells" new findings in cancer gene. "Tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) is a promising candidate for cancer therapy because of its relative tumor selectivity. However, many cancers including pancreatic cancer remain resistant towards TRAIL," researchers in Ulm, Germany report.
