Researchers Employ ZONARE Ultrasound Technology in Study to Detect Early Ovarian Cancer

A study presented at the annual meeting of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) last month, indicates scientists may have discovered the perfect model for developing early detection of ovarian cancer, a disease that annually kills 140,000 women worldwide. Using ultrasound technology from ZONARE Medical Systems, researchers from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago found that pathological and Doppler sonographic changes associated with ovarian cancer in chickens are similar to those detected in women with ovarian cancer.
