Study data from Cancer Institute of New Jersey, Division of Surgical Oncology provide new insights into gastric cancer

Scientists discuss in "Factors influencing perioperative blood transfusions in patients with gastrointestinal cancer" new findings in gastric cancer. According to recent research published in the Journal of Surgical Research, "Patients undergoing major cancer resections often receive blood transfusions (TFs). Preoperative erythropoietin (EPO) offers the rationale to reduce TFs and related morbidity."
