Hypothyroidism Therapy
New hypothyroidism therapy findings from University of Florida, Department of Radiation Oncology described

Data detailed in "Primary and central hypothyroidism after radiotherapy for head-and-neck tumors" have been presented. In this recent article published in the International Journal of Radiation, Oncology, Biology, Physics, scientists in the United States conducted a study "To investigate the incidence of radiotherapy (RT)-induced central and primary hypothyroidism regarding total dose, fractionation, and adjuvant chemotherapy. We retrospectively reviewed the data from 312 patients treated with RT for extracranial head-and-neck tumors between 1964 and 2000. The cervical lymph nodes were irradiated in 197 patients."
