Study data from University Hospital update knowledge of bladder cancer risk factors

A new study, "Insertion/deletion polymorphism in the promoter of NFKB1 as a potential molecular marker for the risk of recurrence in superficial bladder cancer," is now available. "Bladder cancer is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality. Despite intensive research efforts, histopathological diagnosis of grade and stage, the most important markers for predicting the outcome of the disease, is still necessary," scientists in Essen, Germany report.
