Study results from Fox Chase Cancer Center broaden understanding of cancer prevention

Scientists discuss in "Dextran sulfate sodium-induced colitis-associated neoplasia: a promising model for the development of chemopreventive interventions" new findings in cancer. According to a study from the United States, "Individuals diagnosed with ulcerative colitis face a significantly increased risk of developing colorectal dysplasia and cancer during their lifetime. To date, little attention has been given to the development of a chemopreventive intervention for this high-risk population."
