New life sciences study findings have been reported by scientists at Institute of Cell Biology

A report, 'Multitasking by pVHL in tumour suppression,' is newly published data in Current Opinion In Cell Biology. According to a study from Zurich, Switzerland, "Functional inactivation of the von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) tumor suppressor gene product, pVHL, leads to cancer in humans. It is widely accepted that pVHL functions to destabilise hypoxia inducible factor alpha (HIFalpha) subunits, key effectors of the hypoxia signalling pathway."
