Egenix Licenses Harvard Anti-Cancer Platform

Mr. Donald Fresne, Chairman and CEO of Egenix, Inc., announced that the company has recently obtained from Harvard University a field-exclusive license under patent rights that cover certain technologies related to cancer therapy and prognostic testing. The licensed technologies, which were developed jointly by scientists in the Laboratory for Translational Research and the Department of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, each of Harvard Medical School, comprise small molecule inhibitors of translation initiation, a new paradigm in target- specific, non-cytotoxic anti-cancer therapy, and the use of translation initiation-specific biomarkers to assess tumor sensitivity to...
