"The aim of this study was to evaluate the activity and safety of 5-fluorouracil (5FU) / leucovorin (LV) and irinotecan as first- or second-line treatment in patients with advanced gastric adenocarcinoma. Treatment consisted of irinotecan 80 mg/m(2) intravenously (i.v.), followed by LV 200 mg/m(2) (i.v.) and 5-FU 450 mg/m(2) as an i.v. bolus, administered weekly for 6 weeks, followed by a 2-week rest period," scientists in Rion, Greece report.
