Researchers detail in 'Natural history of hepatocellular carcinoma and current treatment options,' new data in cancer. According to a study from France, "Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most frequent primary liver cancer and the most severe complication of chronic liver disease. The annual number of new cases worldwide is approximately 550,000, representing more than 5% of human cancers and is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths."
