Research conducted at Zhejiang University, Department of Gastroenterology has updated our knowledge about cancer gene therapy

Researchers detail in 'Inhibitory effect of hypoxia inducible factor-1 antisense oligonucleotide on growth of human hepatocellular carcinoma cells,' new data in cancer gene therapy. In this recently published article, scientists in Hangzhou, People's Republic of China conducted a study "To observe the inhibitory effect of Hypoxia inducible factor-1 antisense oligonuclecotide on growth of human hepatocellular carcinoma cells and gene expression of HIF-1, in order to seek a new gene therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma. Six Hypoxia inducible factor-1 antisense oligonuclecotides with various concentrations (0.2 micromol/l, 0.4 micromol/l, and 0.8 micromol/l) were transformed into HepG2 cells...
