Global Proton Therapy Leader Announces Americas Headquarters

Belgium-based Ion Beam Applications (IBA), a world leader in the research, development and installation of Proton Therapy systems for cancer treatment, has based its Americas' headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla., near the University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute, the fifth center of its kind in the United States.

The announcement was made during the annual meeting of the Particle Therapy Co-Operative Group (PTCOG 47) in Jacksonville. More than 500 leading physicists, engineers and medical researchers from around the world are sharing and discussing 150 clinical and research presentations about the use of protons and charged particles to treat cancer.
