According to recent research published in the journal Cancer Gene Therapy, "Despite adequately expressing tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand ( TRAIL) receptors DR4/ DR5, malignant cells are frequently refractory to the cytotoxic effect of this apoptosis-inducing ligand.
