Recent findings from National Taiwan University highlight research in adenoma

"Increased F-18 FDG uptake in the stomach may be caused by physiological contraction or disease of the gastric wall. Distention of the gastric wall may suppress the physiological uptake of F-18 FDG and may lead to increased image contrast between the lesion area and the contracted gastric wall," scientists in Taipei, Taiwan report. "We present a 76-year-old woman with lung cancer. Preoperative staging F-18 FDG PET/CT incidentally revealed an area of F-18 FDG uptake in the collapsed stomach. A lesion with F-18 FDG uptake became clearly defined after distending the gastric wall with water ingestion," wrote S.Y. Wang and colleagues, National Taiwan University. ...
