According to a study from Leipzig, Germany, "Therapeutic effects of haematopoietic stem cell transplantation are not limited to maximal chemoradiotherapy and subsequent bone marrow regeneration, but include specific as well as unspecific immune reactions known as graft-versus-leukaemia (GvL) effects.
