University of California details research in gene therapy

January 20th, 2009

Research findings, 'Menin promotes the Wnt signaling pathway in pancreatic endocrine cells,' are discussed in a new report. "Menin is a tumor suppressor protein mutated in patients with multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1. We show that menin is essential for canonical Wnt/beta-catenin signaling in cultured rodent islet tumor cells," scientists writing in the journal Molecular Cancer Research report.
