Clovis Oncology Raises $145 Million in Start-Up Financing

Clovis Oncology, Inc., a company focused on acquiring, developing and commercializing innovative anti-cancer agents in the U.S., Europe and additional international markets, announced that it has secured $145 million in start-up financing. The Company was founded by former executives of Pharmion Corporation, which was acquired by Celgene Corporation in 2008 for $2.9 billion. The Clovis executive team includes Patrick Mahaffy, President and Chief Executive Officer; Andrew Allen, M.D., PhD, Chief Medical Officer; Gillian Ivers-Read, Executive Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Technical Operations; and Erle Mast, Chief Financial Officer.
