Studies from V.F. Esteves and co-authors have provided new information about breast cancer

According to recent research published in the Brazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, "Of all malignant neoplasias affecting women, breast cancer has the highest incidence rate in Brazil. The objective of the present study was to determine the frequency of genetic modifications in families with medium and high risk for breast and ovarian cancer from different regions of Brazil."
