Raymond J. Lane Named Chairman of Carnegie Mellon's Board of Trustees

Raymond J. Lane, a managing partner of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers(KPCB), will succeed David Shapira as chairman of Carnegie Mellon University's Board of Trustees, effective July 1. Lane will also serve as chairman of the board's Executive Committee.

Shapira, chairman, president and CEO of Giant Eagle, Inc., was chairman of the board and its Executive Committee since 2003. A life trustee of the university, Shapira will remain a member of the board's Executive and Compensation committees. He was elected to the board in 1983.
