Researchers from Nova Southeastern University, College of Osteopathic Medicine provide details of new studies and findings in the area of colon cancer

New investigation results, 'Screening mammography use and chemotherapy among female stage II colon cancer patients: a retrospective cohort study,' are detailed in a study published in Bmc Health Services Research. "Although chemotherapy is not a routine recommendation for stage II colon cancer by the U.S. national guidelines, 20-30% of patients have received chemotherapy. This study investigated whether screening mammography use before the cancer diagnosis was associated with chemotherapy use among female elderly patients with stage II colon cancer," researchers in the United States report.
