Researchers from Guangzhou Medical College, Department of Urology publish new studies and findings in the area of prostate cancer

2010 DEC 14 -- Fresh data on prostate cancer are presented in the report 'Serum early prostate cancer antigen (EPCA) as a significant predictor of incidental prostate cancer in patients undergoing transurethral resection of the prostate for benign prostatic hyperplasia.' According to a study from Guangzhou, People's Republic of China, "Early prostate cancer antigen (EPCA), a nuclear matrix protein, has been recently suggested as a novel biomarker in malignant lesions of the prostate. This study was to determine whether preoperative serum EPCA levels predicted the presence of incidental prostate cancer (IPCa) in patients undergoing TURP for BPH."
