Scientists at Texas A&M University Target Butyric Acid

2011 NOV 29 -- New investigation results, "Linoleic acid and butyrate synergize to increase Bcl-2 levels in colonocytes," are detailed in a study published in International Journal of Cancer Journal International Du Cancer. "The biological properties of polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) classes have been the source of much contention. For example, n-3 PUFA are chemoprotective, whereas n-6 PUFA may promote tumor development," researchers in College Station, Texas report.
