Research from Medical University of South Carolina in Lewis Lung Cancer Provides New Insights

2011 DEC 27 -- A new study, "NK depletion results in increased CCL22 secretion and Treg levels in Lewis lung carcinoma via the accumulation of CCL22-secreting CD11b+CD11c+ cells," is now available. According to the authors of recent research from Charleston, South Carolina, "Tumor-induced immune suppression involves the accumulation of suppressive infiltrates in the tumor microenvironment such as regulatory T-cells (Tregs). Previous studies demonstrated that NK-dependant increases in CCL22 secretion selectively recruit Tregs toward murine lungs bearing Lewis Lung Carcinoma (LLC)."
