Reports from Michigan State University Highlight Recent Research in Colon Cancer

2012 APR 3 -- Fresh data on Colon Cancer are presented in the report "Akt directly regulates focal adhesion kinase through association and serine phosphorylation: implication for pressure-induced colon cancer metastasis." According to the authors of recent research from Lansing, Michigan, "Although focal adhesion kinase (FAK) is typically considered upstream of Akt, extracellular pressure stimulates cancer cell adhesion via Akt-dependent FAK activation. How Akt regulates FAK is unknown."
