2012 APR 17 -- According to the authors of recent research published in the journal Clinics in Laboratory Medicine, "Cancer is the third leading cause of death in developed countries and the second in the United States. Nanotechnology has great potential for early detection, accurate diagnosis, and personalized treatment of cancer."

"It may provide rapid and sensitive detection of cancer-related molecular alterations, even in a small percentage of cells.
