Study Results from University Putra Malaysia Provide New Insights into Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

2012 APR 17 -- A report, "Activation of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/Akt signaling by EGF downregulates membranous E-cadherin and ß-catenin and enhances invasion in nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells," is newly published data in Cancer Letters. "Dysregulation of E-cadherin and ß-catenin function in cell-cell adhesion is common in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and correlates with metastatic disease.
