Treatment regresses left ventricular hypertrophy more in women than men

Antihypertensive treatment results in greater left ventricular hypertrophy regression in women than men, cardiologists report.

"While left ventricular (LV) structure and function differ between hypertensive women and men, it remains unclear whether sex affects regression of LV hypertrophy with antihypertensive treatment," said J.N. Bella and colleagues, Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center, New York.
