Local fuzzy fractal dimension provides information for segmenting ECGs

A recent report described local fuzzy fractal dimension and its application in medical image processing. Scientists writing in the journal Artificial Intelligence in Medicine report, "The local fuzzy fractal dimension (LFFD) is proposed to extract the local fractal feature of medical images." X. Zhuang and Q. Meng of China Ocean University explained, "The definition of LFFD is an extension of the pixel-covering method by incorporating the fuzzy set.
