Utility of drug-eluting stents reviewed

The utility of drug-eluting stents in the treatment of cardiovascular disease has been reviewed. "Current treatment options for acute coronary syndromes as well as chronic stable angina often include the use of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with routine stenting," scientists in the United States explained. "The clear benefits of stents have lead to their routine use for prevention of restenosis."
