Osteoporosis research advances have been reported from Denmark, the United Kingdom and France. Study 1: Effective doses of ibandronate don't affect postmenopausal women's risk of cardiovascular disease by altering vascular calcification, according to a study from Denmark. "Animal experiments revealed conflicting results as to the impact of bisphosphonate treatment on atherosclerosis and related vascular calcification. The effect of long-term treatment with clinical doses of bisphosphonates on aortic calcification (AC) in an 'at-risk' population of osteoporotic elderly women has not been assessed systematically," said Laszlo B.
