Two studies in the April issue of Diabetes Care add to a growing body of evidence that keeping physically active is a very important thing a person can do to reduce his or her chances of dying from heart disease - even if they can't shake problems such as high blood pressure, obesity or high cholesterol. The first study, by researchers at the National Public Health Institute in Finland, found that people with type 2 diabetes who engaged in moderate or high levels of physical activity were far less likely to die from heart disease than those who engaged in low levels of physical activity.
