Study 1: Diltiazem prophylaxis significantly lowers the risk of atrial fibrillation after heart bypass surgery.
Cardiovascular surgeons in the United States conducted a study "to evaluate the prophylactic effect of diltiazem on the incidence of atrial arrhythmia (fibrillation and/or flutter) following coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)."
