Net sales for the second quarter of fiscal year 2006 increased to $116.5 million from $109.2 million in the second quarter of fiscal year 2005.
Operating income increased to $18.1 million from $7.1 million primarily due to recognition in the second quarter of fiscal 2005 of $6.8 million in expenses due to the company's voluntary early retirement program, and $4.9 million of charges related to the discontinuance of the company's Arrow LionHeart Left Ventricular Assist Program.
