Research conducted from Mayo Clinic, U.S., has updated our knowledge about heart disease.

Study 1: Mitral repair affords superior long-term survival, with permanence comparable with mechanical valve replacement.

According to a study from the United States, "Factors predicting long-term survival and re-operative risk after mitral valve repair for subsets with prolapse involving the anterior leaflet in the current era are unclear."
