University of Queensland details research in atherosclerosis

Research findings, "Anti-P. gingivalis response correlates with atherosclerosis," are discussed in a new report. "Significant associations between atherosclerosis and both Porphyromonas gingivalis, a major periodontopathogen, and the respiratory pathogen, Chlamydia pneumoniae, have been shown. Many individuals with evidence of atherosclerosis demonstrate seropositivity to these pathogens," scientists writing in the Journal of Dental Research report.
