Survey: Lack of public awareness about strokes related to AF

Results from a new national survey conducted by the not-for-profit Alliance for Aging Research to mark National Stroke Awareness Month show that about 80% of a thousand people polled were not aware atrial fibrillation (AF), a type of irregular heartbeat, is a major risk factor for stroke.

Also, about 6 out of 10 people didn't know appropriate treatment can help prevent strokes related to AF.
