According to a study from the United States, "Outcome analysis is increasingly being used to develop health-care policy and direct patient referral. For example, the Leapfrog Group health-care quality initiative has proposed ''evidence-based hospital'' referral criteria for specific procedures including elective abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (AAA-R)."
