Close postoperative follow-up is needed following colorectal cancer resection

Researchers report that the clinical benefits of close postoperative surveillance of patients undergoing resection of colorectal cancer have been demonstrated by meta-analyses.

According to recent research from Australia, "Over 4 years have elapsed since the first National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) guidelines were published for the management of patients after potentially curative resection of colorectal cancer.
