Study emphasizes women should see gynecological oncologists for ovarian cancer treatment

In a study published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, researchers from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston report that ovarian cancer patients treated by gynecologic oncologists experienced the best outcomes and lowest mortality rates after surgery.

These findings are consistent with a key recommendation from the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC).
