Studies from Seoul National University, Department of Pathology have provided new data on oral squamous cell carcinoma prognosis

A new study, "Clinical significance of metabotropic glutamate receptor 5 expression in oral squamous cell carcinoma," is now available. "The multifunctional G-protein-coupled metabotropic glutamate receptor (mGluR) family comprises eight subtypes, some of which participate in tumorigenesis. The purpose of this study was to evaluate mGluR5 expression in oral squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) tissues and oral cancer cell lines," scientists in Seoul, Korea report.
