On October 23 and 25, Komen Detroit Race for the Cure will host events to launch Metro Detroit's participation in the Komen Community Challenge. The Detroit Community Challenge events mark the twelfth stop of the 25-city campaign to elevate breast cancer on the national agenda and to draw attention to disparities in breast cancer mortality.

On October 23, physicians and executives from five of metro Detroit's top hospitals, breast cancer survivors and elected officials will come together for a Community Forum at the Max M. Fisher Center to discuss strategies for addressing high mortality rates in Wayne County and disparities that prevent low-income women from receiving...
