Tadalafil effective during thiazide diuretic hypertension therapy

Tadalafil is an effective treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED) in hypertensive men undergoing thiazide therapy.

Many ED patients "have hypertension as a comorbid condition," researchers in the United States explained. "Recent guidelines recommend thiazide diuretics as first-line therapy for hypertension."

With this in mind, R.A. Kloner and colleagues at the University of Southern California "analyzed data from 14 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials (n=2,501) to evaluate the efficacy of tadalafil 20 mg for the treatment of ED in men on thiazides."
