Abnormal meal-related ghrelin and insulin patterns and larger gastric capacity may be associated with binge eating disorder in women, report obesity specialists at the Columbia University St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center. "Binge eating disorder (BED), characterized by ingestion of very large meals without purging afterwards, is found in a subset of obese individuals," said A. Geliebter and colleagues.
