Rapid infancy weight gain in preterms was slightly related to higher insulin levels

Preterm birth weight and rapid infancy weight gain until 3 months was slightly related to higher insulin levels at 19 years. According to recent research from Netherlands, "An increased risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus is associated with low birth weight after full-term gestation, including amplification of this risk by weight gain during infancy and adult body composition.
